Waking Up the Inner Child

When I was a child
I listened to my mother
She taught me how to walk and talk
Above all, how to create a good thought.

I believed in nature
Made it my best friend
I played with my dog
Which I thought to be godsend

Now that I am grown
The innocence has flown
The mind has developed
It’s easy to make it corrupt

From pure to defensive
It forgets to be festive
I was taught the dream of compassion
Somehow it became weaken

Not anymore, I tell myself
I am going to lead by example
The world is hard and cold
But then I have good friends to hold

It’s time to wake up the purity inside
That’ll help me when things go wild
This moment I am not going to subside
‘Coz now I know, I am God’s most beautiful child

Sometimes the child in us tells us loudly about what we should not do, but as we are not used to listen to it, we move on.

Oddly the lines have really changed me in the past. I started doing things the right way purposefully a few years ago, and each time it brightened the other person’s day… and mine!

Hi Nitima,

I have been following you for many years. Since 2010, I have been on a bit of a hiatus from my career as I have a 2 year old and another baby on the way. I am wondering if you would dedicate one of your blog entries to sharing some thoughts to help new moms best apply your concepts and find a balance between focusing on babies and still developing ourselves. I do plan to return to my career but I am in a bit of a transition state currently. I think there are probably many other females that can relate. Thanks for considering this request.

Hi Nitima,

I really thank you for such a remarkable sharing of thoughts. As I have followed some of these ideas in my life whether its getting up at 5 AM or keeping the mind positive, I truly realized the power in each of these thoughts.

Thank you very much! :)
